Our Story

Philos isn’t just a business to us — it’s the realization of a lifelong dream. At the start of 2023, we took over Philos at a time when our lives were already changing in the best way possible: the arrival of our first child, Freddie. Owning our own venue had always been something Lucy and I aspired to, and when the opportunity came along, we knew it was meant to be.

With a background in the food and hospitality industry, we’ve spent years honing our craft, working in kitchens, coffee shops, and restaurants, learning what it takes to create a space where people love to eat, drink, and feel at home. More than just serving great food, we wanted to create a place where people could connect, unwind, and experience warm, genuine hospitality.

At Philos, every dish we serve is a reflection of our passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and homemade flavors. We start each day cooking everything from scratch, making sure that every sandwich, salad, and brunch plate is made with the same care and attention we’d put into a meal for our own family.And speaking of family, our little Freddie and our dog Cali are just as much a part of Philos as we are. This is more than a business to us — it’s a place built on love, community, and a commitment to serving the best food and coffee possible.
